This newsletter is 24 hours late

I am writing this newsletter approximately 12 hours after it should have already been scheduled and sent.

Typically, I write Saturday evenings and then schedule for Sunday morning but right now, it's Sunday evening and I am just now putting fingers to keyboard.

But between a cold, visiting family, religious holidays and standard toddler shenanigans, my life has been a circus.

And it would have been so easy to just skip a week. I don't have a ton of subscribers. I don't think anyone would have noticed.

It's tempting. SO TEMPTING.

But I named this newsletter Campaign Confessionals for a reason, emphasis on Confessional.

So I'm going to tell you what I've been telling myself ad nauseam for the past 24 hours.

Consistency matters.

Showing up matters.

And getting back up when you've fallen off the wagon matters.

To quote Atomic Habits by James Clear:

The process of building habits is actually the process of becoming yourself...Every action you take is a vote for the type of person you wish to become.

I am a newsletter writer. I write a new edition every week. This is the person I am becoming.

And as much as it sucks to be writing on a Sunday night when I want to be curled up in bed watching Severance, I'm walking the walk and writing the words and sharing this journey with all of you.

See you next week,

🫶🏽 Alysha
